Les milieux du football et du théâtre produisent tous deux des formes spectaculaires dont les résonances sociales, les esthétiques et les enjeux semblent a priori totalement distincts. Nous abordons l’écriture de cette pièce sur le football avec l’idée de concevoir une forme spectaculaire interdisciplinaire, capable de regrouper les publics de ces deux disciplines et de leur permettre de partager leur horizon d’attente.

Nous regroupons alors vingt-deux footballeurs, supporters et artistes de théâtre français et turcs, et travaillons pendant un an à la réalisation d’un spectacle. Celui-ci est présenté à Istanbul puis à Montreuil dans les stades et les théâtres.

A l’issue de l’expérience, une analyse est publiée, au sein de laquelle nous faisons le point sur l’évolution de notre façon de faire du théâtre suite à cette rencontre avec le football, sur ce que nous avons compris de la culture footballistique, et sur les valeurs partagées par les milieux du théâtre et du football.

The worlds of football and theatre produce spectacles in which the aesthetics, issues and social resonances seem completely at odds. We undertook this piece about football as a way to conceive of a form of interdisciplinary show capable of regrouping the audiences of these two disciplines and sharing their aspirations.

It is for this reason that we brought together 22 footballers, supporters and theatrical artists from France and Turkey to work over the course of one year to produce a theatre piece. This was presented in Istanbul and then in Montreuil; in theatres and football stadia.

At the end of the experience, an analysis was published, which drew together the evolution of our methods of working in theatre via this encounter with the world of football, what we had understood of football culture and the values which are common to these two domains.
